91成人 is a world leading node for the Zoological Sciences, especially in the core disciplines of Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Zoology that are considered well above world standard (Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)). Zoological Sciences are in the global top 250 (THE World University Rankings) and recognised as Medium Impact (ERA Impact and Engagement assessment, 2018).

Zoological Sciences at Western have pushed the boundaries in theoretical and applied research. Our research has provided important insight into how animals adapt to their changing environment and the factors that promote biological diversity. Our research also has important real-world impact, such as the effectiveness of native pollinators and the conservation of critically endangered species. This is embedded within innovative, research-led undergraduate and graduate programs that take advantage of the unique environment and state-of-the-art facilities provided at the Hawkesbury Campus.
