Welcome Week is your launchpad at Western. Meet your academics, connect with other students, and find the support you need to feel confident from day one.

Welcome Week includes your Academic Welcome Session, and the Welcome Week main event held on Tuesday, 14 July on our Parramatta South campus which is packed with stalls, free merch and opportunities to make friends and get involved.

Student Group Stalls

听From interest-based, cultural, professional, and social groups across campuses and online, there are plenty of ways to meet new people and make friends.

Keep an eye out for Student Group events happening throughout Welcome Week and across the semester, and be sure to explore the awesome Student Group stalls at Parramatta South Campus.

Freebies, Friends & Getting Uni-Ready

Think freebies, friendly听faces听and answers to all those 鈥渁dulting at听uni鈥 questions.

Our stalls bring together banks, health insurance, transport services, clubs, societies, and more! We鈥檝e got everything you need to get sorted, supported and stuck into uni life. Grab some goodies, ask questions and find your place at Western.

During Welcome Week, Enrolment Support Hubs will be running across campuses to help you complete your enrolment and sort out any issues in person, before classes begin.

Drop in and get help with:

  • Completing your enrolment
  • Fixing any issues holding things up
  • IT support, including password or login problems听

Are you an international student who has just arrived in Australia?

Starting听uni听can feel like a lot, especially if听you鈥檙e听new to听Australia 鈥 but听you鈥檙e听not on your own. At 91成人,听we鈥檙e听here to support you from day one.

Explore our International Student听Orientation听page and head along to the Welcome Week Festival to visit stalls offering help with health insurance, banking, transport and more. Be sure to attend the International Orientation Session!

Welcome Week

Because it鈥檚 the easiest way to get connected! Welcome Week brings together new students, support services, clubs, and community partners to help you find your feet at uni.

There are two events you don鈥檛 want to miss 鈥 your academic welcome session and the Welcome Week main event!

Academic听Welcome Sessions

Your听session gives you key info about your course, introduces you to staff and peers, and helps you get ready for听uni听life. Sessions run all week across campuses, check your听email听or听find your session听using听your program code.听

Welcome Week Main Event

Join us for the Welcome Week main event, where students can explore campus, connect with others, and learn more about university life. Explore heaps of stalls featuring student clubs, support services, and opportunities to get involved. Discover what campus life has to offer, connect with fellow students, and pick up some free merch along the way.

Arrive听15 minutes earlyfor your听Academic听Welcome session.听That gives you time to find your way around campus听and听locate听the right room.听Make sure to check what campus your Welcome session听is听located听on.

Absolutely! Feel free to bring a friend, family member, or whoever you like. Flying solo? You won鈥檛 be for long, there鈥檒l be plenty of chances to meet new people and make memories throughout the week.

Getting there

Welcome Week will take place at Parramatta South campus,听located听on Victoria Road,听Rydalmere.

Travelling听by train听to Parramatta South?听Catch the Western (T1), Cumberland (T5), or Blue Mountains (BMT) line to Parramatta Station. From there,听it鈥檚听just a short 2-minute walk to the Parramatta Square light rail station, followed by an 8-minute ride to听Yallamundi听Station.

If you prefer to travel by bus, you can catch bus routes M52, 520, 521, 523, 524 and 525 which stop at the front of the campus.

Tip: Even though we have free parking available on campus, we recommend听utilising听public transport听and avoiding this area as spaces fill quickly.听

At Western,听we鈥檙e听committed to making access easier for everyone. Our campuses across Sydney, including our Parramatta South campus, are easily accessible by ramps and elevators. If you听require听help accessing any area on campus during听Welcome Week, our Western Ambassadors will be available to assist. Our听campus maps听also听display听information relating to accessibility.听听

Quiet Room

Need a break from the noise or crowds? During the Welcome Week听main event at our Parramatta South campus, you can pop into our quiet room for a calm, low-stimulus space to reset. Quiet spaces are also available at all campuses throughout the semester.
