Watch the launch of our 2025 Solar Car, where we unveiled UNLIMITED 6.0

The Western Sydney Solar Team is powered by students from our engineering programs who apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

From designing advanced composite structures and battery systems to developing aerodynamic solutions and vehicle telemetry, students gain practical experience that extends beyond the classroom.听

Students involved in the project develop expertise in:

  • Composite manufacturing
  • CAD and simulationVehicle dynamics
  • Renewable energy systems
  • Battery management systems
  • Embedded systems
  • Project management听

Whether you're interested in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, civil or software engineering, you'll have opportunities to work on industry-scale projects that prepare you for your future career.听

The Challenge

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) is an international event where teams aim to traverse the 3022 kilometres from Darwin to Adelaide using solar powered vehicles. This event puts our engineering efforts to the ultimate test as our cars must withstand the harsh Australian outback.

The Team

We are a team of 18 students from 91成人, we push the boundaries of engineering and manufacturing to build cars for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

Since our formation in 2011 we have engineered and built 4 cars听in-house which provides us with real-world engineering experience.

UNLIMITED 2.0 Driving on the Roadshow

The Roadshow

We drove听UNLIMITED 2.0听over 5 days through regional NSW in 2022. We toured various renewable energy zones, ran school and community engagement events and did laps at various race tracks to spread our message about renewable energy and the future of transportation.

The Cars

We design and manufacture purpose built solar cars to compete in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

Facing stiff competition from around the world, we must continually innovate using cutting edge technologies to produce the most efficient vehicles.
